World of Tharyg: the Sionilli Peninsula
Seat of the regions Monarchy – The Sionilli Royal family. The Royal bloodline is human. The Sionilli family has throughout history had many Halfling concubines and therefore there are numerous amounts of Halfling princes and princesses; but, they are unable to rule due to a height requirement that was made for those in line for the throne. To be considered in line for the throne, one must be at the minimum of 5’7”, proving a majority of human ancestry. A minor prejudice against halflings exists throughout the region. Those with great height are considered stronger and more desirable. The goliath race is considered the best of humanoid races. The fetish for halflings is fairly wide-spread, especially in Ogacihc.
The prejudice against halflings spreads to other diminutive races too, except for half-elf and dwarf. Half-Elves and Dwarves are feared for being ferocious fighters and while considered to be part of the diminutive fetish for sexual partners, do not receive the same disregard as halflings face.
- The largest and most urban of any city within the Sionilli Peninsula. Every trade has chapter houses here; sometimes more than one. All guilds have headquarters here and almost all races have a neighborhood; sometimes only a block or two (as in the Deva and Thri-Kreen). The only races not apparent are the Drow and the Drueregar.
The City’s structure is set up as a series on concentric half-rings with the Sionilli Palace in the Center along the coast with each successive ring being of less influence. The first ring is comprised of the noble mansions, with lesser nobles and courtesans on the second ring. The third ring starts all of the merchants and trades-persons housing and storefronts through the twelfth ring. The 5th ring is called “Temple ring” as almost all of the temples occupy the ring. The 13th starts the manufacturing rings; the coastal edges of the 13th ring start the warehousing district and shipping lanes. The 13th ring also hosts the main entrance to the gladiator’s coliseum (which overlaps from the 9th ring to the 15th on the southern coastal edge of the city). The 19th ring starts the laborers neighborhood, segregated by the races. The final rings (28-30th) are the slums and shanty housing. This neighborhood is very rough and populated by many disenfranchised Halflings among the other poorer denizens of Ogacihc.
AEROSPIREAerospire is the regions magical center. It houses the premier magic schools and training facilities for all arcane classes. The Tieflings of Aerospire are taught to be genuinely respectful of other races and are mostly tolerant and of good natures. It also boasts the largest domesticated herds of Hippogriffs, Griffons, and Dragonlings.
AEROGAR – Aerogar is the regions martial training center and hosts most of the regions mining operations. Recruits to the Royal Legion spend a significant amount of time training here as well as in the gladiator’s arena in Ogacihc. Aerogar supplies the forge’s and ferrier’s of Volundrs’ Forge, the region’s most prolific weapons manufacturer.
Quorum of AerovenThe joined council that has run Aerospire and Aerogar since the Tiefling/Dwarf alliance first began; the council consist of 6 Tiefling elders and 6 Dwarf elders. The council has a treaty with the Sionilli monarchy that allows them independent governing of the Glitteren Mountain range. The council regularly consults with the Monarch regarding policy and policing the region. The Monarch greatly depends on the magical resources of the Quorum and intrinsically fears the Tiefling/Dwarf council.
